Riverside South
South
Overview
Riverside South is one of Ottawa's fastest-growing suburbs, built out on what was mostly rural land along the Rideau River in the south end of the city, near Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport. Its population grew by more than 16% between 2021 and 2024 alone, and the community is expected to eventually house over 55,000 residents at full build-out. More than 750 acres of nature preserves, ravines, and forest along the Rideau River give the newer subdivisions a strong connection to green space alongside an expanding mix of housing, shops, and schools.
