Little Italy–Chinatown

Resumen

Little Italy and Chinatown sit side by side in Centretown West, each centred on its own commercial street: Preston Street for Little Italy, settled by Italian immigrants from around 1900, and Somerset Street West for Chinatown, marked by the Ottawa Chinatown Royal Arch gateway that has welcomed visitors since 2010. Preston Street has grown well beyond its Italian roots into a broader restaurant strip, while Somerset Street is home to Vietnamese, Chinese, and other Asian-owned businesses. Together the two districts make this one of Ottawa's most multicultural commercial areas.
