Resumen

Old Ottawa East occupies a narrow strip between the Rideau Canal and the Rideau River, originally the separate village of Archville before it joined the City of Ottawa in 1907. Quiet, tree-lined residential streets of historic single-family and semi-detached homes surround a compact Main Street, which is being redeveloped with new shops, restaurants, and mixed-use buildings. Canal and river pathways give the neighbourhood direct waterfront access and several small parks.
