Rothwell Heights–Beacon Hill–Carson Grove

Resumen

Rothwell Heights, Beacon Hill, and Carson Grove are east-end suburbs built up mostly after the Second World War, on elevated, forested terrain near the Ottawa River. Rothwell Heights is known for its well-preserved mid-century modern homes — a small area called Briarcliffe was declared an Ontario Heritage Conservation District in 2013 — and its large, private estate lots, while Beacon Hill and Carson Grove offer more modest bungalows and townhomes from the 1960s through the 1980s. The area is also a major employment hub, home to the National Research Council, the Communications Security Establishment, and Montfort Hospital.

The neighbourhood is served by OC Transpo bus routes along Montreal Road and Blair Road, with the O-Train Confederation Line's Blair station on its western edge. Most errands still require a car given the area's low-density, forested layout — check octranspo.com for current routes.
