Resumen

Vanier sits on the east bank of the Rideau River, right next to downtown, and keeps a distinctly local, village-like character despite its central location. It is home to Ottawa's only urban sugar bush at Richelieu Park, which runs a maple syrup festival each spring, and to the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, a striking curvilinear building designed by Indigenous architect Douglas Cardinal. Overbrook lies just south, across McArthur Avenue; both neighbourhoods are currently part of the City of Ottawa's Vanier South-Overbrook Neighbourhood Revitalization Strategy, aimed at improving connectivity and the natural environment while preserving their character.
