Meadowlands–Fisher Glen

Meadowlands–Fisher Glen is a southwest suburb built up mostly from the 1950s onward on former farmland that was part of Nepean Township. Carleton Heights, one of its earliest sections, was built as a neighbourhood for returning veterans after the Second World War, while later areas like Country Place and Borden Farm filled in through the 1970s to 1990s. Mostly single-family homes today, the area sits within easy reach of both Algonquin College, whose main campus is in its northwestern corner, and Carleton University just beyond its northeastern edge.

Merivale Road and Meadowlands Drive carry several OC Transpo bus routes through the area, connecting to Algonquin College, Carleton University, and downtown. Check octranspo.com for current routes and schedules.
