Old Ottawa South
Centre

Aperçu
Old Ottawa South sits between the Rideau Canal and the Rideau River, directly across Bronson Avenue from Carleton University. Development took off after the City of Ottawa annexed the area in 1907 and extended the streetcar line across the canal along Bank Street in 1913, and many of its heritage homes date from the following decades. Bank Street remains the neighbourhood's commercial heart, with an eclectic mix of shops, cafés, and restaurants drawing both long-time residents and university students.
