Westboro blends an urban village with a beach town, centred on Richmond Road's mix of independent restaurants, outdoor-gear shops, yoga studios, and specialty food stores. It has developed a distinct identity around health, wellness, and outdoor living, helped by its proximity to Westboro Beach on the Ottawa River, where residents swim in summer and cross-country ski along the riverside pathway in winter. Richmond Road carries several OC Transpo bus routes into downtown, and a future Westboro station on the O-Train Confederation Line's western extension (under construction, expected in the coming years) will add direct rail access.
